Heritage Chic

Heritage chic is not a trend — it is a philosophy of dressing. It is about timeless fashion, blending classic, traditional looks with the modern day, emphasising quality, natural fabrics, and iconic patterns such as tweed, plaid, and of course our favourite tartan.

Probably the thing that really resonates with us is that heritage style is about investing in durable, well-made pieces that last and stand the test of time. We want our pieces to be worn not only year on year, but to one day be pinched by our children or even our grandchildren. We love the idea that heritage clothing, inspired by historical fashion, can be styled in fresh, contemporary ways.

Sinead McKeefry is certainly having a moment, and quite rightly so. She is the fashion stylist for the television show The Traitors and the person behind Claudia Winkleman’s superb outfits. The show is filmed at Ardross Castle near Inverness, so of course it wouldn’t feel right without a bit of tartan — but somehow Sinéad’s styling is hitting all the right notes. It’s no wonder the press have coined “the Claudia effect”: contemporary and edgy, with an undercurrent of heritage and tradition. It’s safe to say this enduring style movement is redefining modern luxury for women who value substance as much as style.

What really works about Sinéad’s styling on The Traitors is that it never feels forced. The clothes feel strong, yet wearable — not costume. Yes, there’s drama, but it’s grounded in proper tailoring, beautiful fabrics, and pieces that feel like they belong in real wardrobes, not just on screen. That balance between edge and tradition is exactly what heritage chic does best.

Always wear the best quality shoes you can afford. And when in any doubt, do less. As Coco said, “Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off.”
