Glen Affric Tartan Scout Scarf

Our Antana tartan triangle scarf is made from 100% woollen tartan and our signature hand block printed organic cotton. This tartan neckerchief is super soft and comfortable to wear. It is a fun and versatile addition to any outfit as each one is completely unique and can be worn in lots of different ways.

This is the oldest tartan know.  Named after Glen Affric in the Scottish Highlands where it was found, this historic tartan dates back as far as the 16th century. As the piece that was found was so old, the fabric had to be tested to determine its age and composition. Four different coloured dyes were detected - green, brown, red and yellow. These pigments would have been created using natural resources available to highlanders at the time, such as plants, roots and berries.
